The Endra-class is the primary ship type utilized by Neo Zeon during the First Neo Zeon War. A light cruiser based on the older Musai-class, it can carry six mobile suits internally and launch them using a pair of crossed catapults built into its bow. The Endra-class is armed with five mega particle guns, one twin mega particle secondary gun, six anti-air laser guns, and an unknown number of missile launchers. It can operate in space as well as in the Earth's atmosphere, and also stores a Komusai reentry capsule on the back of its bridge. Some Endra-class ships have unique color schemes, and those used by commanders can have different bridge tower designs.

This ship was the main battleship of the Neo Zeon forces, and many of its sister ships were built and commissioned. Several ships also appeared in episodes 46-47 of the TV series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, which takes place towards the end of the Gryps War, and in the film Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam III: A New Translation -Love is the Heartbeat of the Stars-.

The standard hull color is green, but several ships have different paint schemes. In episode 18 of ZZ, an unnamed ship painted in vermilion and reddish purple (with a standard bridge) appears docked at Axis Port, and in episode 45, a ship painted entirely vermilion (with an unknown bridge) appears.

In Mobile Suit Gundam UC, it was also operated by the Sleeves in the year 0096 of the Universal Century. In episode 7 of the OVA, one of the two ships was sunk by a direct hit from the Nahel Argama's Hyper Mega Particle Cannon (with a standard bridge), and the other was moderately damaged and retreated (only mentioned in dialogue).
