It also appears in Mobile Suit Discovery (MSD), an MSV-like project in Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN. While the basic setting remains the same, the FSWS project in MSD is considered to be an extension of Gundam FSD. The paint job is also in line with Gundam FSD, with a dark gray base and some orange accents. The total number produced is unknown, but it is believed to have been primarily white and light gray at the time of rollout.

In the manga Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN MSD: The Island of Cucuruz Doan, one unit takes part in the Battle of Solomon, and is set to have been completed and taken part in combat during the One Year War. It is equipped with a flame launcher and shield.
