After Glod God losing his driver in the battle with Baroque Gun, he splits into three: will, armor, and body. His will chooses Gundam Mark Three as his new driver, but due to interference from the Ancient God Baroqugun (Kaiser Tiger), Mark Three splits into good and evil, and his body, which has turned into a wild flying dragon, fuses with the evil part of Mark Three. As a result, the remaining good part is reincarnated into Knight Gundam, and after a fierce battle, the two realize they are the same being and unite with the will of the Gold God, resurrecting as Superior Dragon.

In the original story, when Gundam Mark Three of Tenmyou stole the Gundam clan's treasure, the Shield of Silver, and was chased by his allies, he was struck by lightning and transported to the Suda Doaka World, where he was split into his good and evil sides, his good side fusing with Knight Gundam and his evil side fusing with the flying dragon he had collided with, turning into a fireball and dying, but was saved by Sieg Zeon, who branded him as the Demon King and turned him into Satan Gundam, and the two became stronger, becoming the Versal Knight Gundam and Neo Black Dragon, who refused to become Superior Dragon, and ascended to the rank of god.

Since "Gold Saga" also introduced the contradictory setting that Superior Dragon was a god that had existed in Suda Doaka since ancient times, the 2010 reprint of "Gold Saga" was used as an opportunity to reorganize the settings so that both settings could coexist without contradictions. Ultimately, it was decided that when the god descended to earth, he needed a driver to fuse (unite) with him, and for this to happen, Mark Three was called upon, and when the Versal Knight Gundam and Neo Black Dragon fused, the Gold God's will was also fused with him.

Superior Dragon, unable to appear in another world after traveling, created the strongest guardian knights in Suda Doaka World. Superior Dragon watches over them in his pre-reincarnation form.
