This super robot was given to Takeo Michitaro, the former president of Takeo General Company, as a thank you for rescuing Dr. Navaron, who had escaped from Planet Gabar. After Michitaro's death, his son, Takeo Watta, took over the piloting duties. Originally, the robot was not intended for children to pilot, so the pilot's seat is too large for Watta, who is still in elementary school, and the cockpit is too large for him. Some levers and switches are out of reach while seated, and the levers are stiff, so Watta often has to use both hands to pull them.

By utilizing separation, transformation, and combination, it can take on seven different forms and is adaptable to any terrain.

Regarding its armor, director Sasaki Katsutoshi stated, "Because Gabarnium is a metal of the Gabar Empire, it cannot be replenished, and most of it has now been replaced with simple steel." However, this is never depicted as a particular disadvantage in the film, and its overwhelming defensive power is repeatedly demonstrated. It also seems to have high maintenance and operating costs, which was a distant cause of Takeo Michitaro's accidental death (he had no choice but to take on as many tough and dangerous jobs as possible that paid as much as possible in order to protect his small company), and is also one of the reasons why Watta complains, "We're not making much money (considering the number of jobs we complete)." Nevertheless, it boasts performance unmatched by any other Earth-made robot, and has been entrusted with defense work as the only fighting force capable of competing with the Empire's mecha robots.

As is customary for super robots, it has a face, but it is often depicted with a wide range of expressions and humor, occasionally closing one eye or clenching its teeth.
