A dashing young man who fights against the Meganoids plotting to invade Earth with the giant transforming robot Daitarn 3. He uses the first-person pronoun "boku."
He once lived on Mars with his father, Sozo Haran (who only appears as an auditory hallucination in SRW), who created the Meganoids as cyborgs for space development. However, his older brother and mother were also modified into Meganoids. A Meganoid rebellion soon broke out, and Banjo was rescued by his father's assistant, Minamoto. He escaped from Mars on the Masaa Rocket with a large amount of gold and the prototype Megaborg Daitarn 3. After arriving on Earth, he used the gold to become a billionaire in Shin the City and use Daitarn 3 to fight the Meganoids.
His main weapon is a versatile carry gun. While normally a regular pistol, he can transform it into various forms, such as a machine gun like the Zambo Magnum, a rocket launcher, or an ion plasma cannon, by attaching attachments. He also sometimes fights with a stick that emits high heat, and in episode 21 he pierces the vital points of a robot monster several dozen times his size, defeating it.
He is gentlemanly yet unconventional, and while he appears to be a playful and gentle man, he is actually calm, collected, and passionate. He is also impeccable in his marksmanship, physical abilities, and other areas, but he has an intense hatred for Meganoids, and will ruthlessly and without hesitation eliminate anyone who has become a Meganoid of their own free will, even women and children. However, even when fighting Meganoids, he can show compassion for those who have retained or regained their human hearts, such as Kidogawa and Aiser. After defeating a Meganoid who cared about his subordinates, he built a grave for him, and saved the life of a grieving Meganoid by handing over the death of a loved one the battery for Daitarn 3. After defeating Don Sauser in the final episode of the original manga, he vanishes without a trace.
