In its original appearance in Super Robot Wars COMPACT 2, it appeared as a prototype for the Gespenst Mk-III, which was never mass-produced. Later, detailed settings related to the Personal Trooper were announced in Super Robot Wars Alpha, and in Super Robot Wars Alpha ORIGINAL STORY and subsequent works, it was changed to a modified version of the Gespenst Unit 3, nicknamed the Gespenst Mk-III.
In Alpha ORIGINAL STORY, Super Robot Wars IMPACT, and the OG series, it is portrayed as a unit developed under the ATX Project.
The main pilot is Lieutenant Kyosuke Nanbu, and its identification code is PTX-003-001 (the first prototype of the Mk-III) in COMPACT 2, and PTX-003C (a custom version of the Mk-I Unit 3) from Alpha ORIGINAL STORY onwards. The frame structure has also been significantly modified, with standard leg parts being transplanted onto the washers of the shoulder motors. Since "α ORIGINAL STORY," it has been designed to be used in conjunction with the Weissritter, an artillery PT developed under the ATX Project. In the OG series, Dr. Marion Radom, who oversaw the design and modifications, avoided the use of the unstable alien technology EOT, resulting in high reliability. Furthermore, because it does not use EOT, it is not a highly classified military technology, and is said to have been more widely exposed to the public than the R series.
