She appears in episode 38 of the manga, "The Mysterious Robot Minerva X." She is a female robot designed by Dr. Juzo Kabuto as Mazinger Z's partner. Dr. Hell created her based on blueprints obtained during a raid on Dr. Kabuto's villa. Like Mazinger Z, she was designed to be made from Chogokin Z and powered by a photon-powered engine, but Hell's faction lacked the technology for either, so she used super steel and a nuclear engine instead.

She was deployed to defeat Mazinger Z, but her built-in partner circuit was activated during the battle, causing her to betray Dr. Hell and fulfill Dr. Kabuto's original intention of becoming Mazinger Z's partner robot.

After becoming an ally, she went on dates with Mazinger Z (Koji), displaying her lovey-dovey side, which caused Sayaka to explode with jealousy.

However, her partner circuit was destroyed by an attack from the mechanical beast Archerian J5 (not yet appearing in SRW), and she reverted to being an enemy, unilaterally attacking Koji, who had lost his will to fight. After going out of control, it attempted to fire Breast Fire at a nuclear power plant, but was forced to be destroyed by Aphrodite A's photon-powered missile which arrived just in time, and was buried at sea. The end of Minerva X brought deep sadness to Koji and Sayaka.

In Gosaku Oda's manga version, the story generally follows the same progression as the TV version, but there are some differences in the depiction: when it was handed over to the Photon Power Laboratory, it was replaced with Chogokin Z, and after its partner circuit was destroyed, it transformed into a sinister, malevolent enemy robot, and in stark contrast to the TV version, it was destroyed in an attack by Mazinger Z, who could not bear to see Aphrodite in danger.
