Elan is a taciturn and solitary person, who doesn't open his heart to anyone in school. He has an interest in Suletta Mercury.

Compared to most who view the terms "Gundam" and "Witch" in contempt, he doesn't seem to share this prejudice but rather shows an indifference to it, though he has admitted that he wished to learn more about the Suletta herself, even going as far as asking for her contact info, hoping her to be able to fulfill as many things she wished to do at school as possible, or casually offering her a membership at his House, which showed that he might not view her in a negative light at all.

However, it was revealed that the reason he reached out to Suletta was because he believed she was just like him, someone that is "cursed" by the Gundam. Upon learning about what made Aerial different from the Gundam he knew as well as Suletta's treatment of the mobile suit, he felt "betrayed" and even outright made a loathing remark toward her, how she was such an "annoying" person.
