Using information obtained by Anew Returner, an Innovator spy who infiltrated Celestial Being, the Reborns Gundam was equipped with both Trans-Am System and Twin Drive System. When activated, the Trans-Am System increased a mobile suit's output by three fold for a limited time and caused the machine to glow red. The Twin Drive System is a system whereby two synchronized GN Drives produce a higher amount of GN Particles than that of two unsynchronized GN Drives. Since the Innovators do not possess the original GN Drives, the Reborns Gundam's Twin Drive System utilized two GN Drive Taus that were mounted on the elbows. However, this is also the Reborns Gundam's only deficiency as GN Drive Tau is inferior to the original GN Drive in certain aspects, such as having limited operating time.[2][3][26][29] Ribbons considered the GN Drive Tau to be the cause of his defeat by the 00 Raiser, but in reality, technological innovations have almost eliminated the performance difference between the two types of GN Drives.
