Developed as an improved model of the MS-06J Zaku II Ground Type, the MS-06G is the final production model of the Zaku Ground Type. Since its development period overlapped with that of the MS-07 Gouf, it shared some of the latter's visual features, such as the shape of the arms and spike armor. To improve its terrestrial combat capabilities under the extra stress of gravity, the joints and leg frame were reinforced. The power cables on the legs have been internalized, the backpack was also upgraded and extra thrusters were added, giving it far greater ground combat performance than the base model. Additionally, the backpack could be equipped with a large antenna as an optional equipment. The shape of the armor, including the shield on the right shoulder, have been modified to be more aerodynamically designed, granting the machine improved maneuverability.
