The Musaka-class is a further development of the old Musai-class series of light cruiser and is the primary cruiser class deployed by Neo Zeon during the Second Neo Zeon War. The Musaka-class is capable of launching blitzkrieg attacks due to its high engine output, and a pair of radiator fins are mounted on the ship's bottom for dissipating the heat generated by these engines. It can carry six mobile suits and launch them using a pair of catapults at the front, but unlike other ships, the Musaka-class' catapults are tilted at an angle to maximize effective use of space. Both catapults lead to an internal hangar that connects to the recovery deck mounted aft of the ship, between the engines. The Musaka-class is armed with four twin mega particle guns, six missile launchers and twelve anti-air machine guns. By U.C. 0096, the Sleeves deployed several surviving vessels, adding their own modifications to the class. The bow was lengthened, and the propellant tanks were replaced with larger ones, increasing the class' cruising range. It received an upgrade to its defensive armament as well, with its machine guns going from double to triple barreled.
