When Junichi was a kid, he had to go into physical rehabilitation after suffering an injury.

Junichi is a rugby player. He calls Tetsuya "Tetsu-chan", looking up to him as an older brother. The youngest member of the team, temporarily leaving high school in order to fight Volt.

Junichi never learned to drive and had to learn on the fly when driving the Sai Fire. This resulted in him being late for Bison Liner's first appearance, for which Tetsuya rebuked him.

While impregnated by Vega Brain, Junichi was fearful of the life inside him to the point of getting an abortion until the unborn Vega Baby pleas for its life and Junichi decides to "give birth", only to lose the child when it is killed by its biological parent, getting a newfound respect for mothers in the process.

Green Sai attempted to serve as the inspiration to a young boy named Sho as he learned to walk on crutches like Junichi once did. However, Junichi's defeat by Guildo Brain led to the child's disappointment and subsequent kidnapping. Green Sai thus challenged Guildo Brain to a 1-on-1. Though he exhausts himself, he succeeds in inspiring Sho, and so the other Livemen can intervene.
