Asao Hyo is a GWP Ranger recruited to be VulPanther to oversee land operations. Asao also had quite the appetite as he was a big eater and has a comical fear of dogs like CC.

Prior to being in the GWP, Hyo lived in the city of HidaIcon-wikipedia in Gifu prefectureIcon-wikipedia, where his father, Asataro, was a rich and powerful man who owned four mountains, selling one so he could try various food throughout the world.

He alongside the other Sun Vulcan and Misa is tasked to protect a fortune-telling ESPer named Kamiko Kitazawa from the ESPer-killing Satan Monger after they receive a mysterious letter. Despite of the rejection, but after being saved from the burning car, she and her husband accept their protection. In the process, Asao and Misa guarding the ESPer inside a villa.

When Asataro discovers his son no longer in the Rangers (but not knowing he was in Sun Vulcan), he pursued him to come back home but with Asao trying to make him confident in his current life without telling him. After discovering him as VulPanther, Asataro allows Asao to continue his work with GWP with confidence.

After defeating Black Magma, Asao promised to return to his hometown of Hida to help his father run their family business.
