The Tornado Gundam was capable of atmospheric flight, granting it high usability in all environments. Its arm armor adopted a multi-layer structure made of Luna Titanium and shock absorption materials, allowing them to be used as shields.

Several Tornado Gundam units were found in the hangar of an abandoned factory that was no longer in production, still in working condition. As such, they were assigned to several units as they were. Since no relevant data was found with the uncovered units, the Tornado Gundam's development time and history were a complete mystery.
