The Kimera is a modified variation of the MAW-01 Mistral created by the Junk Guild for work purposes, which included salvaging and dismantling of junk parts, construction work, transporting resources, etc. There is no standard model of the Kimera, as each unit is customized with equipment chosen by its pilot. For example, Lowe Guele's unit mounts mobile suit-style arms, one with a conventional hand and the other with a drill bit, while Kisato Yamabuki's unit is equipped with a large shovel.

Kimeras were created by the Junk Guild by modifying acquired MAW-01 Mistral. After the collapse of the Heliopolis space colony, Junk Guild members Lowe Guele, Liam Garfield, and Kisato Yamabuki used their Kimeras to travel inside the colony, where they recovered two prototype Astray mobile suits.
