Appearing in "BBW Genesis," she is the daughter of Zhang Shiping and a beautiful and talented young woman. She acquired her education to serve her father as his right-hand woman, but her high ideals made her somewhat stubborn. Her strong-willed personality also often led to conflicts with others.

Disillusioned with Zhang Shiping's plot to smuggle salt to Yuan Shao, even defying Dong Zhuo, she colluded with the Black Mountain tribe, but she too was merely a pawn in the power struggles of the warlords. She was wounded by an arrow from Su Shuang, but survived because the shot missed a vital spot.

Although she does not appear in the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms, her character is based on Cai Yan.
