Appears in "BBW." A subordinate of Yuan Shu, who boasts of being the "strongest general," he is actually a simple-minded individual with an overconfident and short temper, and therefore lacks strategic savvy, easily falling for the provocations of Zhang Fei and Sun Ce. Following Yuan Shu's orders, who is captivated by the Imperial Seal, he pursues Sun Jian and engages in battle with Sun Ce and his forces. This action isolates Sun Jian, contributing to his eventual defeat by Lu Bu, and inadvertently leads to him fighting alongside Lu Bu.

After the defeat of Dong Zhuo, he engages Sun Ce and his forces, who have advanced into Jiangdong with their navy, but falls into Zhou Yu's trap and loses his ships. Gradually cornered, he attempts to take refuge in a bamboo grove and tries to attack Sun Shangxiang and Lu Xun, but is stopped by Taishi Ci and forced to retreat.

During the conquest of Xuzhou, he is provoked by Zhang Fei and challenges him, but is easily defeated due to the difference in strength. However, Xuzhou itself fell under Yuan Shu's control. He also conspired with Zhang Xiu to assassinate Cao Cao and Liu Bei.

Later, in episode 24, he fought Sun Ce's army again when they attacked Shouchun. He cornered Sun Ce with Jia Xu's strategy, but was provoked by Sun Ce and defeated in a duel. He begged for his life but was not granted it. After being scorned as a "screw rat who would betray not only Sun Jian but also Yuan Shu," he was impaled to death by the Three-Pointed Beautiful Fang.
